why do you watermark other people's art? you don't really have the right.
I am an authorized distributor of the art created by these artists. If I were to just scan and upload their artwork as is that would be in conflict with the copyright printed in every book. It is watermarked because the images I upload are used as advertisement for my website which sells their works - they actually receive money because of my work instead of the artwork being redistributed for free (or uncredited).
You have a very wonderful site where I'm very glad that someone like you opened a shop like this since I'm fond of what's being sold. Anyway, I'm wondering as to how you were able to get your shop off the ground. Do you have personal connections with the artists or are you secretly some big time star? :3
Thank you very much for the compliments! I’m not a big time star or anything. I made a few connections with artists and then made a few more connections with galleries and publishers. I started very slowly selling two or three books only on eBay. Eventually learned how to build websites so I could make AkaTako the way I wanted. I’ve been doing this for almost ten years now so persistence is the key!
